IF I WERE THE DEVIL

Happy Halloween! I made a music video!

Short story: I heard a cool thing on YouTube and spliced a load of footage together to make a video.

Long story: I wanted to write something in the same vein as "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" with spoken word set to music, so I started writing a monologue about space ships being sent out from Earth to colonize other planets called "Some Will Make It". While I was trying to find an American Public Service Announcement voice to try and mimic I stumbled on a speech called "If I were The Devil" (Full story on that here http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/devil.asp

) and it was exactly what I was looking for so I wrote some music to it.

I decided it would be cool to make a video for it, in an ideal world I would have shot all the footage myself but with the scope of the speech I quickly realised that wasn't going to be possible, so I lifted everything I needed off YouTube. The problem with that being the varying quality of the footage doesn't make consistent viewing so I shoved a black and white filter on it to try and "unify" the footage.

As for the "message" in the speech there's a few points I couldn't get on with as I'm not a religious person so I tried to use some of the footage to twist the meaning slightly. Hopefully it's worked and hasn't come across as a load of pretentious old nonsense.
The footage of the old lady is from Age UK http://www.ageuk.org.uk/ who'll I'll be donating to as an apology for stealing their video.

There is also footage from the Dakota pipeline protests more info on that here (http://www.motherjones.com/dakota-access-pipeline-protest… )

Anyway get watching it before the copyright police come and throw me jail x

SUMMER 2016!

So, its been a long and busy summer! I've had the pleasure of playing with my usual bands DisFUNKtional and Presuming Ed as well as playing for original eight piece Yorkshire based funk band Octofunk and Leek function band Funk Station! Lots of funk going on! I also played a couple of gigs for Hull metal heroes Sworn Amongst before scheduling and injury meant I had to pass the gig onto my good friend Kieran.  Highlights included supporting The Feeling at Music In The Gardens in Sheffield, a late night show for Tramlines Festival, a slot in the Xanadu Tent at Y-Not Festival and a performance with a five piece horn section at Leeds College Of Music.

I've included a video of Y-Not below. Kenny x
